大陸海協會會長陳德銘昨日致電海基會董事長林中森，對於台南強震傷亡的災民表達深切哀悼與慰問，海協會將捐款人民幣500萬元（新台幣2500萬元）協助受災民眾重建家園。
海基會表示，海協會透過海基會向台灣紅十字會捐款人民幣500萬元，用於撫慰南台灣地震罹難者家屬和救助受傷民眾。
海基會董事長林中森表示，此次震災中有4名大陸民眾不幸受傷或罹難，在兩會（海基會、海協會）的協助下，家屬已順利來台探視或奔喪。
對於中國大陸國家主席習近平、大陸國務院總理李克強、大陸國務院台灣事務辦公室主任張志軍、海協會會長陳德銘及各界的關懷與慰問，海基會致上誠摯謝意，並期許兩會經此次事件，強化災害通報及救助機制。
海基會也表示，中國機電商會台北辦事處主任李榮民也心繫災情，並向海基會表示，年後將發動在台陸資企業捐款，協助災後復原重建工作。
